Twitter’s finally made it easy for website owners to interact with their visitors via Direct Messages thanks to a handy new button embed option. Here’s how to set it up in under two minutes.
First of all, navigate to publish.twitter.com, scroll down and then select ‘Twitter Buttons’ on the right side. Then, select the right-hand option again – ‘Message Button’.
From there you’re given the embed code and are free to put it anywhere you like on your website – we’ve put it in the sidebar.
If you want to customize the button a little, you can choose not to show your Twitter name and can pre-fill the message with whatever text you want.
