Nutshell:
Browser-maker Opera has found a buyer for parts of its business after an earlier deal with Chinese buyers fell elapsed due to regulatory issues. The new deal is worth $600 million.
More:
An earlier deal had been pegged at $1.2 billion, but issues with regulations meant that parts of the business needed to be stripped out, hence the reduced price. Opera’s non-browser services include B2B and television services.
And while it should be a more straightforward deal on the face of it, approval from regulators is still required, so it’s not signed and sealed just yet.
