Google wiped a notable author’s 14-year old Blogger account and all his content

Google removed author Dennis Cooper’s Blogger and Gmail accounts, wiping 14 year’s of his content from the site.

Cooper says that he had no warning of an¬†impending deletion from Google, and has since only been able to get a standard-issue ‘breach of terms’ response from the company. As a respect¬†author and artist with notable – if controversial – works, Google’s action so far requires a little explanation. Cooper’s most recent update suggests he fears Google could try and mount some sort of legal challenge, though on what basis he says he has no idea.
