More:

Dotcom revealed the new launch date – January 20, 2017 – in a flurry of tweets. The launch date is set to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the site being raided by the FBI. The new service will offer 100GB of storage and have no transfer limits.

Context:

Since Megaupload was raided in 2012, Dotcom launched another service called ‘Mega’ but has since left the company alleging that the New Zealand government have control of it. He’s still fighting extradition to the US for his ownership of Megaupload.
